Brilliant cast led by the two first class sopranos Natalia Dessay as Fosca and Erica Spyres as Clara, both in love with, and loved by Giorgio Bachetti,  – Ryan Silverman a captain in the Italian military forces.

RYAN SILVERMAN

We really trusted in Giorgio – played by Ryan Silverman in the leading male role, very well singing and forming his important character, that the two female roles are twisting around. They are Natalia Dessay, who is extraordinary good in the very demanding Fosca role
. And the young soprano Erica Spyres as Clara, as the married Milanese woman Clara, that Giorgio is having a long time affair with, she was brilliant.

The 12 man, male soldat choir, did a good singing job, but not only that, they were in addition choreographed in a demanding tattoo inspired choreography by Jean Guizerix. That they managed to march and move very well when they were singing. One soldier, Jean-Baptiste Henriat, had a good small solo. Bravo.

GOOD DICTION

We enjoyed the clear and got diction from all the staff, who (of course) was helped by a good sound technician, Stéphane Oskeritzian. Stephane Petitjean is responsible for the singing, and Stephen Betteridge was choire leader and also assistent to the conductor

.

In some parts a young female dancer, Charlotte Arnold, is very well dancing/playing the role as Fosca as a young girl.

The scenography by Guillaume Durrieu functioned well with a lot of different carpets, lowered down from the roof, giving good atmosphere assisted of great light by Urs Schönebaum.

Last night to night at 20.00 at Theatre du Chatelet.
