Don Giovanni at Theatre des Champs Elysees,
Don Giovanni by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Livret de Lorenzo Da Ponte
Presented by Tomas Bagackas.
One of the three da Ponte operas in Mozarts operaproduction, and the only one of the three, Figaros Wedding, Cosi van Tutte and Don Giovanni who is a real drama, as the other two are comic, is the big new operaproduction this spring at Théâtre des Champs Élysées, in a setting by Stéphane Braunschweig, conducted by Jérémie Rhorer, premiered April 25th, with 6 performances until May 5th.
From Oslo, we do remember well, the young german tenor Daniel Behle, who won the Queen Sonja singing competition in 1995, it shall be interesting to enjoy him as Don Ottavio
.
Later on we had the pleasure to listen to Daniel Behle as Camille des Rossillon in The Merry Widow at Palais Garnier, together with Bo Skovhus as Count Danilo
.
Markus Werba did an outstanding job as Papageno lately, it shall now be interesting to enjoy him as Don Giovanni, where he need to use other sides of his talent and og his musicality.
