FAREWELL CONCERT KJELL M. SANDVE – Opera – Oslo

FAREWELL CONCERT KJELL MAGNUS SANDVE

Second House

Kjell Magnus Sandve

Kjell Magnus Sandve

Close up on Kjell Magnus Sandve – a retrospective.

Kjell Magnus Sandve made his first appearance in the role of A Lamplighter in Manon Lescaut at the Norwegian Opera in 1980
. Over the following 30 years he has been a popular member of the ensemble of soloists.

To really put this lyrical tenor’s voice into perspective, contrast it with our deepest bass, Magne Fremmerlid, as partly singing compère. Towards the end of the concert, we will hear the premier performance of the opera medley The Last Solo Meeting, a rapid journey through operatic literature in 12 minutes, composed and accompanied by Helge Evju.

It will bubble like champagne!

Sandve has also made guest appearances on other stages, including in Weimar, Vienna, Copenhagen, Berlin, Cologne, Munich, Karlsruhe, Leipzig, Paris and Verona. He has worked with foreign orchestras in Germany, Austria and Scandinavia.

Now that he is leaving the position of permanently employed soloist, he will be giving us a cross-section of what he has done during his career
. We anticipate tasters from Hoffman, Don Giovanni, The Magic Flute and L’elisir d’amore, as well as some lighter operetta material from Land of Smiles, The Merry Widow and Die Fledermaus.
