PARIS: Paris Haute Couture free exhibition, organized by the City with the support of Swarovski , awaits you from March 6 to July 6, 2013 in the hall of the Hotel Saint Jean de Ville de Paris to admire the most beautiful dresses signed Balenciaga, Chanel, Madeleine Vionnet, Courrèges…

For the first time in Paris, the famous Hôtel de Ville Haute Couture. Nearly 100 dresses and outfits chosen from prestigious collections of the Musée Galliera, drawings, photographs will allow the Parisian public to slip behind the scenes of famous shops in the world, and witness the birth of these works, to the show. Curated by Olivier Saillard and Anne Zazzo, respectively Director and Chief Curator at the Musée Galliera Heritage.

It is a great possibility that Musée Galliera during their renovation periode is exposing outside their own walls, as we have seen with the brilliant Balenciaga at Les Docks and now in the Hotel de Ville, Paris

. I am sure that it will be a must for tourists and the Paris citisens to vist during the summer season, an importent suplement to Les Arts Decoratif´s splendid exposition of Fashioning Fashion, 1700-1915, which is running until April 14th 2013

Haute Couture at Hotel de Ville: Balenciaga, ensemble in silk, autumn -1967

Haute couture was born in Paris in the mid-nineteenth century and since, generations of designers have transformed a discipline called frivolous great art, relying on the expertise of thousands of small hands, embroiderers, whose work plumassières in the shadow perpetuate traditions that contribute to wear high radiation Paris .

City Hall pays tribute to the creative field of symbolic capital through this exhibition of nearly 100 dresses or outfits chosen from prestigious collections of the Musée Galliera , drawings, photographs will allow the public to slip Paris behind the scenes of the famous shops in the world and witness the birth of these works, from design to completion.
