OSLO/NORWAY: In connection with CODA Festival 2016, the Festival will get some famouse French stars in the photo and film business visiting.  Jean-Paul Goude, world famouse graphic designer, illustrator, photographer and advertising film director. In addition, over the last three decades, he has created well known campaigns and illustrations for brands including PerrierCitroënKodakChanelKenzo and Shiseido.

Furthermore in Oslo, Gilles Delmas, filmmaker, who the Norwegian audience remember from his house installation in the hall of Oslo City Hall from last years Coda Festival (2015). Together with their colleague the filmmaker and former founder and leader of the french dance film institute, Patrick Bernard.

CODA film – 2016

CODAfilm opens at the end of November with Gilles Delmas’ & Damien Jalets‘ latest film The Ferryman, a cinematic and choreographic exploration of the animistic roots of rituals, dance and sculpture and their contemporary relevance. The relationship between man and nature is portrayed through a series of striking ceremonies, narrated by performance artist Marina Abramovic.

Dance and movement has been a driving force throughout Goudes’ life.
The artist will speak about his life and there will also be screening of the documentary So Far So Goude.

Goudemalion. Jean-Paul Goude a rétrospective

Les Arts Décoratifs is organising the first exhibition of Jean-Paul Goude’s work in Paris. Grace Jones is modell for some of the photos.

One of the most brilliant ‘image makers’of contemporary creation is proposing a retrospective and creative vision of his oeuvre encompassing all his areas of activity, from fashion and photography to advertising and the live event.

His entire forty-year career will be retraced in the nave at Les Arts Décoratifs, featuring his drawings, objects, music, films and photographs.

This major exhibition, conceived as a large installation, brings together his drawings, objects, music, photographe and films in a rhytmic chronological succession of intimate spaces and theatrical sequences, from his work with Grace Jones including the famouse Ektachrome cut-outs and his advertising campaign for Galeries Lafayette and Chanel. This is the largest collection of Goudes work ever seen (and many are seen here for the first time) – sketches, paintings, storyboards, elaborately staged photography, and documentation for stage and street shows.

The exhibition will of course evoke the Bicentenary of the French Revolution. Visitors will be welcomed in the reception hall by one of the gigantic waltzing ladies that caused such a sensation in the 1989 parade, then discover the monumental locomotive in the middle of the nave, installed on conveyor belt surrounded by numerous drawings.

In the Tuileries gallery, an ‘introspective’ evocation of Goude’s work will take the public on a chronological journey from his débuts at Saint-Mandé to his most recent work. Evoking his decisive encounters, collaborations, influences and souvenirs, this journey will be punctuated with the artist’s original creations, while in the alcoves on the rue de Rivoli side six theatrical yet intimate installations will reactivate the highpoints of his life and work.

The exhibition is filling up all the first floor in the one side of the Musee Les Arts Decoratif, and it is packed with all varieties representing the fantasyfull personality style that it seems Jean-Paul Goude has been working in. It is very interesting, funny, and it is a hit among the audience, which for shure will fill up the museum day after day. Up on entering the exhibition, we are been welcomed by a female sculpture in a colossal large black evening outfit. Entering the stairs an enorme locomotive is filling up the hall, and in the side rooms are installations with great viriety, and many sides of the talent presented. Even a live “Russian” look a like women in a white dress, speaking russian with her own mirror. Many small tv screens are presenting a lot of different parts of the many sided work, and here is inspiration for all.
