The new balletchief Krzysztof Pastor of the company has choreographed a new version for his company, and it was premiered in a fairytale setting November 21th. 2014. Scenography and costumes by Viačeslav Okunev.
In his ideas about creating this Nutcracker Pastor tells that he has the idea of letting the audience feel that this history is going on in their own home city, Vilnius, by letting the decoration giving an atmosphaere and a look like it is in a snow covered Vilnius.
A beautiful way of making it, as the history is going on in the heart of a family lining in a large city, with a lot of family and friednds coming to visit for the Christmas party.
A ballet full of mystery and miracles, poetry and beauty, and wonderful dreams that come true on Christmas Eve around the green gran tree. To get the atmosphaere around the dream true, Pastor has the idea to let the divertisement in the second act happen in mr. Drosselmeyer – tha magicians – theatre.
Its decoration is build and painted so it reminds of the foyer at Palais Garnier in Paris, a beautiful old theatre from the periode when this history was created.
The production has several casts. At the opening night Anastasija Cumakova dansed the role as Marie (in other verions called Clara). The little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stahlbaum, – Aleksandras Molodovas and Ilva Juodpusytè and her brother Fritz was danced by Voicechas Zuromskas.
Pastor has made that The Mouse Queen is another leading role, danced by Kristina Galalyté. At the opening evening the Prince/Nutcracker was brilliant performed byRomas Ceizaris.
And when entering Drosselmeyers magical theatre, the cast was as follows: The Puppet was Julija Turkina
. And the Nutcracker danced by the brother to the real Prince/Nutcracker Tomas Ceizaris. The Mouse Queen by Olga Lopatcenkova. The grand parents of Maria and Fritz by VAlerijus Fadejevas and Jelena Lebedeva
