«Kunsthåndverk 2015» på Nasjonalmuseet

OSLO/NORGE: Den juryerte utstillingen «Kunsthåndverk 2015» ønsker å vise det beste innen samtidens kunsthåndverk. I år var nåløyet ekstra trangt for å få delta. Hele 321 kunstnere søkte med til sammen 994 arbeider. Etter 2. juryering ble 37 kunstnere med til sammen 54 arbeider valgt ut. Samtidig viser årets utstilling et stort spenn mellom yngre og eldre kunstnere. Utstillingen åpnet søndag 11. oktober.
Uninteresting, boring Millepied and Robbins at Garnier, Paris

PARIS/FRANCE: I must admit that the latest premiere at Palais Garnier, and the first ballet premiere with Benjamin Millepied as new balletchief for the Ballet de l´Opera de Paris, showed an uninteresting, boring Millepied and Robbins at Garnier, Paris. The only two things who lifted it was the very good orchestra, with brilliant violin soloist, and the finale number in the program by Balanchine to Tsjaikovskijs music. By Henning Høholt

OSLO/NORGE: Vinner av Kunsthåndverkprisen 2015 fra BKH, Stian Korntved Ruuds Daily Spoon består av 365 skjeer utformet én skje om dagen gjennom et år. Samlet i en haug visualiserer verket en håndfull tid. Hver skje reflekterer den daglige stunden av konsentrasjon som sysselsettelsen rommer, med spor etter gode og mindre gode dager.

NEW YORK/USA: Thursday October 8th HRH Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway gave a piece of the original tapestry of the UN Security Council Chamber as a gift to Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum’s permanent collection in New York.
The Little Mermaid by Kenneth Greve in Helsinki

HELSINKI/FINLAND: The Little Mermaid , choreographed by Kenneth Greve as a blend of the eponymous tale by H.C. Andersen and biographical elements from the author’s life. The merger of reality and the fantastic underwater world promises to be visually stunning while telling a moving tale of the longing for love. Composer Tuomas Kantelinen and costume designer Erika Turunen. Premiere 23rd. October.
Svansjön – Mats Eks världssuccé – nu på operan

STOCKHOLM/SVERIGE: Tyllen blandas med bara fötter och kala huvuden när Kungliga Baletten som första kompani i världen, förutom Cullbergbaletten, ger Svansjön i koreografi av Mats Ek. Musiken framförs dessutom för första gången live av en fullskalig orkester – Hovkapellet under ledning av Jonathan Darlington. Premiär på Kungliga Operans stora scen den 23 oktober kl 19.00.

OSLO/NORGE: Årets CODA festival krysser grenser og bygger broer rundt temaene identitet, tilhørighet og hjem. Den monumentale multimedia installasjonen La Zon-Mai (Vrengt Hus) av Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui & Gilles Delmas åpner årets festival i Rådhuset i Oslo. I krysningspunktet mellom arkitektur, tredimensjonal kunst og dans handler dette slående verket om identitet, territorium og grenser. Coda presenterer i år 20 PRODUKSJONER FRA 20 LAND, 40 FORESTILLINGER FORDELT PÅ 20 ARENAER. 14.-25. Oktober.
Richard Strauss Days 2015 – Dresden

DRESDEN/GERMANY: The strong connection between Richard Strauss and Dresden is illustrated by the fact that nine of the composer’s 15 operas were premiered here under music directors Ernst von Schuch, Fritz Busch and Karl Böhm. For this reason the Semperoper Dresden once again invites audiences to attend a »Richard Strauss Days« in 2015, when from 16 to 25 October the Semperoper and the Staatskapelle Dresden present a brilliant programme of Straussian works performed by an array of stars.
United Dance Company – the film

Intermezzo Festival in Vilnius
