Orchestra of St.Martin in the Fields and David Fray in Berlin
2/09/15 •
BERLIN/GERMANY: The last concert in program in Berlin’s Konzerthaus (situated in Gendarmenmarkt, one of the most beautiful spots of the city) was a two-faced all stars evening. “Two faced” because there is no apparent tie between the 1800s world by Suk and Dvorak on one side, whose compositions have opened and closed the evening, and Johann Sebastian Bach, who occupied the central part of the concert.

Barbiere de Sevilla in Vilnius
2/03/15 •
VILNIUS/LITHUANIA: I got special permission to attend the last musical stage rehersal before the premiere, only Figaro was in his performance costumes, but that didn’t spoil the good impression of a great entertaining and amusing Barbiere of Sevilla, with an outstanding cast headed by a true Figaro with great stage presence, it became a performance full of joy, wonderful singing from all the soloists. Review by Henning Høholt, fotos Martynas Aleksa.
Revisoren på Nationaltheatret
2/03/15 •
Februar.

Oslo Kammer Orkester i Universitetets Aula
1/30/15 •

“Chicago” in Oslo- crime with Charleston.
1/28/15 •
OSLO/NORWAY: The characteristics of this new production is a host of dancers on the small stage and a high paced development without a dull moment. The director Hungnes and the choreographer Aamodt gave their audience a swinging “Chicago” already in 2002. Then Hungnes also was the director of this celebrated downtown theater. Now he is retired, but full of merits as a staging director of musicals. Last year the couple had a successful presentation of “Guys and Dolls” on the same stage.. Carmen in the Garage in Oslo
1/26/15 •
OSLO/NORWAY: The new “Carmen” is to some extent the colorful fiesta the audience always longs for. And to some extent it is the tragic drama between loving and hating individuals. As a whole this production does not grip you all the way, at least not in the first part. Here the Spanish director Calixto Bieito is astonishingly minimalistic though many details tell about violence and degradation. Henrik Engelsviken as Don José can add a new triumph to his career with his powerful José, full of steel. Review by Torkil Baden, Fotos Erik Berg.

1/14/15 •
TORRE DEL LAGO PUCCINI/ITALY: In 156th anniversary of the birth of Giacomo Puccini, the Puccini award, bearing the same name of the composer, has been conferred in Torre del Lago to tenor Fabio Armiliato and soprano Serena Farnocchia. Moreover there was a revival of a staging of Puccini’s Il Trittico that we couldn’t review last summer, with young singers coming from Accademia di Perfezionamento of Puccini Voices, surely with limited experience on stage but who have chosen a difficult job like the opera singer. Review by Fabio Bardelli.
