The fact is that it all started in Paris, and from Paris it developed, but as the fashion is internationally, so are the designers who have made Paris the capital of fashion and couture. This exposition runs until 31. May 2015.By Henning Høholt, text and photos.
Nutcracker in Vilnius

VILNIUS/LITHUANIA: The balletchief Kryztof Pastor has himself made a new Nutcracker for his Lithuanian National Ballet. It is a good renewing to the repertoire, which for shure will be a long time succes for the company. It includes a lot of dancieng with many succesfull group arrangements from the start to the end, and out of these wellformed groups are coming smaller and larger soloparts for one soloists or a leading couple. It is a Nutcracker full of dance. Review by Henning Høholt

PARIS/FRANCE: A very large exposition of the Ukranian artist and designer Sonia Delaunay is also very actual right now at Musee des Arts Modern, across the street from Palais Galliera. By Ms Delaunay it is the colours and her colourfull – happy pictures, paintings, aquarells, designs for patterns, carpets, and used for ballet costumes that draws the attention and a very large audience.
La Wally from Geneve at Mezzo
1/05/15 •
GENEVE/SCHWEIZ: Mezzo, the brilliant classical music canal is these days presenting Alfredo Catalani´s wonderful opera La Wally in a production from The Geneve Opera in 2013. It has a wonderful cast, Ainhoa Arteta is brilliant in the titelrole, we trust in her and her beautiful voice is splendid for this role. Furthermore the brilliant Korean tenor Lee Yonghoon. By him we enjoy a lyric/dramatic tenor in the beginning, but who in the end is giving signals, that we shall be waiting for him as an eventual big Wagner tenor in the future. Extraordinary good. Conducted by Evelino Pidò. Staged by Cesare Lievi.

Falstaff in Firenze.
12/26/14 •
FIRENZE/ITALY: It has been really a big success the recent staging of Falstaff in Florence, under Zubin Mehta and with the stage direction of Luca Ronconi. Verdi’s last masterwork (he wrote it when he was almost eighty) takes place in this staging in the late 1800s, more or less when it was composed. Scenes are by Tiziano Santi and costumes by Maurizio Millenotti. Review by Fabio Bardelli, Foto Opera di Firenze
Daniil Trifonov, piano in Firenze
12/24/14 •
FIRENZE/ITALY: This Florentine recital of young Russian pianist Daniil Trifonov was not his absolute debut in Firenze. Two years ago he played Chaikovsky’s Concert under the baton of Diego Matheuz in the old Teatro Comunale. Even if he was really very young at that time I was really impressed by his way of playing piano, and now he seems to confirm absolutely his promises.Review by Fabio Bardelli.

BRIGHTON/GREAT BRITAIN: It would be hard to find two talents more well-matched than Norwegian singer Karin Krog and British multi-instrumentalist John Surman. These nine songs, jointly composed, bring out the special qualities of them both. Krog’s apparently simple style has a clarity and precision that becomes more telling with the passage of time, while Surman never fails to surprise you with some new texture or sudden change of direction.
