ROCK THE BALLET at Casino de Paris, and later on tour in France

PARIS: Rasta Thomas,  Kirsten Wicklund, Alexei Geronimo, Lee Gumbs, Kameron Bink, Doug Baum and ….were the brilliant and virtuose dancers in Rasta Thomas great ballet version“ROCK THE BALLET” presenting very demanding disco dancing
. But this was not for the “normal” disco dancers, this was done by highly qualified professional dancers, who had the little extra, which is needed to do this evening some thing extraordinary, and the audiance at Casino de Paris, where the performance is being showed until January 8th 2012, they loved it
. In March 2012 all of France will have the posibility to enjoy the production as it will tour around i France until April 1st.

Rasta Thomas, him self, is a hit. But he is absolutely not alone on stage all his colleagues Bad Boys are doing a brilliant job, this is fun, and still it also looks like they enjoy the atmosphaere and thehappy audience. Presenting pirouettes, jumps, grand jetes and other delicious ballet details, with energy at a speeded tempo and with the highest possible quality, was brilliant, and it was so good to see this in such a combination, which is bringing first class dance and dancers out to a much bigger audience, than the classical ballet and the contemporary dance normally does.

It was all very much helped due to the matching and very talented video projections by William Cusick, which gave the whole thing an extra lift and a good and changing atmosphaere
.

Adrienne Canterna-Thomas, is responsible for the choreography and together with Rasta Thomas for the staging.

After the first part where I had the feeling that I have seen all possible variations of professional disco dance, but where there not have been any change in the costumes, only blue jeans and 6 different colours of t-shirts, in fact the blue jeans dont look any sexy on these handsome boys at all
.   But where Kirsten Wicklund, in delicious feminime costumes was the only change on stage, i  was feeling that i needed a change.

The production could need a change in T-shirts colours in the middle of the first part, as it is looking like a repetition of the same things on and on, specially as the choreography is also being repited by using the same choreographer for all the numbers, except for Rasta Thomas solo to music from Carmen. This coment is seen from the critical side of the production. It didn´t seem like the young audiance noticed it.

I got that in the second part, where the  6 “Bad boys” had changed in to Black suits,white singlets, white shirts and some times black ties, which they were putting on and of as needed, until the very end, when only the black pants were left on the body

. – They could have ended up in black boxer shorts, that would have been even better.

It was funny, happy, hig speed, and quality in the dance all the time. ROCK THE BALLET is being performed at Casino de Paris until January 8th. 2012. But as mentioned tournee in all of France in March 20121.
