NEW YORK/USA: The Met’s just-announced 2016–17 season features an exciting lineup of six new productions, ranging from Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde, – with Nina Stemme as Isolde, which opens the season in September, to the Met premiere of Kaija Saariaho’s L’Amour de Loin, one of the most acclaimed operas of recent years

. The season comes to a close with Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier, featuring a dream cast led by Renée Fleming and Elīna Garanča.
