BERLING/GERMANY: It became one of the Don Giovanni that we, for sure, will remember for a very long time. Because, the regiseur has let his excellent ensemble show all their talents, also with out the normale Don Giovanni stye, making it amusing, funny, entertaining, and also giving someone small chocks. However
. The singers did an excellent job, as all the show, didn´t spoil any of the famouse arias, duets or ensembles, but he let them use the time between the many highlights to make it fun, and many of these outstanding singers has really talents in that wa y too, We are sure that they had fun.

After having seen Don Giovanni during many years at many leading opera houses in Europe, The Komisches Oper Don Giovanni is so far the most amusing and entertaining one. The director has used all the funny moments and enlarged them, giving the soloists possibilities to make all the best they can do out of it. Furthermore, he has also managed not to spoil any of the beautiful, famouse arias, duets, ensembles at all. As the joke normally continues in to these great parts, who, for me, is the essence of Don Giovanni, the music, the great sung parts.
With a brilliant cast, lead by Günter Papendell as Don Giovanni, with the famouse norwegian soprano Birgitte Christensen as Donna Anna, this production is a must, if our readers has the possibility to vist Berlin during the time, when this production is at the program at the Komisches Oper, Well, this season the last performance was 28th May. This great production will be back in the coming season with 9 performances in January, February and March 2018. too. With so good singers it is a hit.
Don Juan – the epitome of the seducer inspired Mozart to one of his most influential operas – frivolous, humorous and profound in one. A through ball for Herbert Fritsch, the master of the theatrical folly, is its high musical staging style as created for this”light-hearted play «about deadly passions”.
