VILNIUS/LITHUANIA: It was a privillige, again, to enjoy the production of this great Donizetti opera from 2008, staged by Oskaras Korsunovas, that we revived from the premiere.
The production in Vilnius is beautiful with very colourful costumes by Agne Kuzmickaité, has now been much stronger, where the many details and the choreographing groupes are functioning very well.
We were very impressed with Tomas Pavillionas as Nemorino, a demanding singing role, where some of his vocal parts are very wellknovn sung by some of the most famouse tenors in the world, inclusive “Una furtiva lagrima”. Pavillionas succeded very well, and received lout Bravo from the audience, that he deserves. He has a great stage present, he is young, tall, handsome and he acts with humour, – and when needed drama and tragedy, and i feel i trust in his figure. And last, but not least, he sings beautifully, not only in his recitatived, arias and duets, but also convincing in all his playing and cooperation in ensemles, and with the very good choire.
His Adina, Joana Gedmintaite is one of the best female singers and talented players in the compani, a singer that i allways feel comfortable with, when she is on stage

Dulcamara was humoristic and well taken care of by Arunas Malikenas, That i also had the great pleasure to enjoy a few days earlier as a great Don Carlos in Ernani.
The orchestra knows well L´elisir d´Amore, and the conductor Modestas Pitrenas had fully control.
Furthermore it was a lot of fun to follow the five sweet dancers acting as amor. A very good job.
