La Wally from Geneve at Mezzo

GENEVE/SCHWEIZ: Mezzo, the brilliant classical music canal is these days presenting Alfredo Catalani´s wonderful opera La Wally in a production from The Geneve Opera in 2013

. It has a wonderful cast, Ainhoa Arteta is brilliant  in the titelrole, we trust in her and her beautiful voice is splendid for this role. Furthermore the brilliant chinese tenor Lee Yonghoon
.  By him we enjoy a lyric/dramatic tenor in the beginning of the performance, but who in the end is giving signals, that we shall be waiting for him as an eventual big Wagner tenor in the future. Extraordinary good. Musically well conducted by Evelino Pidò. Staged by Cesare Lievi.

This kind of productions, where we so enjoy a production, which not is tryed to put in to an other frame work than where it is at home. With the beautiful painting of the Alps at the behind wall, nearly as we can see it from the square outside te theatre, is underlining that the excellent and tasteful general manager Tobias Richter, not is giving up presenting productions that the opera audience can understand. Let us hope that this line will continue
