PARIS/FRANCE: On the proposal of its Managing Director Bruno Hamard, the board of Directors of the Orchestre de Paris have named Daniel Harding as the orchestra’s new Music Director starting from the 2016-2017 season. Thomas Hengelbrock is named Associate Conductor

These appointments were approved by the Minister of culture, Fleur Pellerin and the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo.
The Orchestre de Paris and its musicians are very proud to welcome Daniel Harding, one of the most talented conductors of his generation. A brilliant, modern and daring artist, he is the ideal man to conduct the orchestra towards great public and artistic successes in its new concert hall the Philharmonie de Paris ” says Bruno Hamard. The Orchestre de Paris and its musicians want to pay homage to the outstanding work of Paavo Jarvi during his six year tenure, he will regularly be invited to conduct the orchestra in the future.
