MALMØ: Since I have followed the Melodi Grand Prix since it started, and of course had the pleasure of liking it for a periode, and disliking it for an even longer periode, I am now pleased to be back writing my coments about the 2013 Melodi Grand Prix

. I still remember «Voi Voi» which was the Norwegian contribution in Eurovision Song Contest 1960, and was sung in Norwegian language  Nora Brockstedt. Melody and text was written by Georg Elgaaen, who for many years was living in Prof. Dahls street in Oslo. It was the Norwegian debut in the Eurovision Song Contest therefore the first time Norwegian was being used in the competition. The exression Voi Voi means “hei hei, or w or light given “yes yes” according accentuation.

This year a lot of love was in to it, many countries had choosen to sing about love and relationship in many ways. And as a special greeting to France who as last has managed to deside and get through all the different parts before at last the gay marriage was confirmed a few days ago, several countries marked that in their apperance, as for exempel  Finland, with “Marry me baby” , funny. It will be remembered. And finishing by kissing a girl.

Later in one of the entertaining parts sweden was letting two men kiss each other as the last picture, very well.

Well filmed, exiting scenography and lighting.
Unfortunately  we did wrong by choosing to listen to Fr3, where the two speakers was having the sickness “mouth diarrhea”. Which allways was covering the planed introdcution lines to each sung.

Emmelie de Forest, This years winner of Melodie Grand Prix.

Many of the shows presented too much flash. Light, for some it was good, for others not good.

1. It started hysterically with France,  Amandine Bourgeois, Song Title: L’enfer Et Moi,  not “my cup of tea” . Too much. France has a bad taste, and FR3 marked it with their commanetares, which allway through all the sending was speaking, when we wanted to listen to the commentaires prepared, and the in the woting, didnt understand when the foreign woters was speaking in Swedish. Next time in Denmark FR3 should invite somebody who cna help them with the language, and not speaking nonstop. Hopeless done from FR3.

2. Love me because of my shoes. Lithuania, Andrius Pojavis, Song Title: Something, a handsome guy, charming, singing well. A positive representation from a little country in the Baltic region of Europe.

3. Moldova, with something i cant remember. Aliona Moon, Song Title: O Mie. Costume and scenographyExciting dressing up. Moldovia expressed them self with a singer in a dress, which growed up, and became like it was burning, but in the very end became frozen like ice. Elegant.

4. Finland Marry me baby . funny. It will be remembered. And finishing by kissing between two girls. Krista Siegfrids. Song Title: Marry Me.

5- Spain: “With you until the end” ESDM, Song Title: Contigo Hasta El Final (With You Until The End) from Spain, sounding like Irish. Booring, running too much around on stage.  Something i dont remember.

6. “Love kills” from Belgique, Roberto Bellarosa, Song Title: Love Kills sung by a nice guy, with good expression.

7- *** Estonia presented a well formed sung with a tune which hangs in the ear. A beautiful  ballade. Birgit. Song Title: Et Uus Saaks Alguse

8. Belarus,

Malta

9. Malta is singing about Tomorrow, Oh O Oh O, a charming, a bit old fashion presentation, no wild show, very nice. Charming.  “Its me to follow”. Gianluca Song Title: Tomorrow.

10. “What if” from Russia. Dina Garipova, Song Title: What IfWhat if we all open our eyes, what if we alle berried our guns? Interesting.

11- Germany, Cascada, Song Title: Glorious ordinary pop, notthing to write home about. Mentioned to be favourite, i dont understand why. Dreadfull, notthing to write about!!!

12. Armenia started with asking “Who is the one who starts the war?”  , Dorians. Song Title: Lonely Planet. Good musicality, good voice, nt too much cirkus.  Good guitar solos.

13. Netherlands was booring. Anouk, Song Title: Birds It seemed that the production team for this sung had the wish that their sung could stay alone, it couldnt. But it was too bad.

Cezar in a spectacular show and with a beautiful countertenor voice, not affraid of performing, Is a hit.

14. Cesar, countertenor from Romania, Cezar, Song Title: It’s My Life “It’s my life”  in Phantom of the Opera style” very good. Extraordinare. One of the very best. But perhaps it was a bit too classival for this audience?

Cesar from Romania

15. Bonnie Tyler from UK unfortunately, she cant sing (any longer), even that she had a light male voice behind tomhelp her, and the melody was uninteresting “Believe in me”. Bonnie Tyler, Song Title: Believe In Me

16. Robin Stjerneberg from Stockholm, represented the hosting country with Song Title: “You” – “Me” together with rather bad jumping dancers. Booring costumes. Some styling, who didn´t work out for this occassion.  Bad taste.

17. Hungary ByeAlex, Song Title: Kedvesem (Zoohacker Remix) “ma cherie” bye Alex, in an old fashion style. Charming. The one for me. Good female co singer and discrete guitar rhytme.

18. Emmelie de Forest, Song Title: Only Teardrops. Good with drums and a little flute. Denmark. It was very good, the whole idea, and the playing and the tune, they deserved to take home the vistory to Denmark. BRAVO.

19.  *** Iceland a ballade,  sung by Eythor Ingi Song Title: Ég Á Líf with a deliciouse  foto decoration of houses and later atmosphaeres from Iceland. Delicious. Good voice, we trust in him. Masculin. Very good.

20. Farid Mammadov, Song Title: Hold Me sounded like composed by Alexander Rybak. Interesting coreographing presen tation. With a man in a glass box. A message entre the two guys with a very nice homosexually idea, and a girl who enters in an elegant red outfit. Cloose to be winner. Good luck next year in Copenhagen. Keep the spirit up
.

21. “Alcohool is free” from Greece, Koza Mostra feat. Agathon Iakovidis, Song Title: Alcohol Is Free an amusing entertaining group in black and white, withba nice elderly gentleman as singing soloist.

22. Ukraine, who got a lot of points, and could have been winning,  Zlata Ognevich Song Title: Gravity, a ballade, with a lot of high tunes, Unfortunately i didnt cats the melody.

23. Italy, Marco Mengoni, Song Title: L’Essenziale Another ballade in italian style, nothing extraordinary. Nearly eating the. Microfone. That time of Italian sungs is not internationally popular anylonger.

TheThe  Margaret Berger, representing Norway in the lead to the end with the song: Song Title: I Feed You My Love

24. Margaret Berger, Norway “I Feed you my love“. Was mentioned to be favourite. Very cloose to win, good job.

26. Irelande “only love survives”, Ryan Dolan, Song Title: Only Love Survives interesting with tuff drum guys with tattoos.

” In the end ony love survives” is a remembering titel for all of us.

The world famouse French designer Jean Paul Gautier was in the audience.
