Excelling in the performance of music from different epochs and styles, the Vilnius String Quartet promises an interesting programme prepared together with young tenor Merūnas Vitulskis. Collaboration with this soloist, who is rapidly gaining popularity, has inspired the Quartet to touch upon rarely performed musical material – mainly the songs by Italian and Lithuanian composers arranged for voice and string quartet. On September 19th, the vocal music will be accompanied by instrumental pieces, including Beethoven’s Quartet No.11 and Brahms’s String Sextet, the latter piece featuring Robertas Bliškevičius (viola) and Edmundas Kulikauskas (cello).

Music and voice will also blend at the Evening of French and German Operettas to be presented on October 10th. The programme of the concert is prepared in collaboration between soloists Edmundas Seilius (tenor) and Kristina Zmailaitė (soprano) and the Čiurlionis Quartet. The Seilius-Zmailaitė duo has always attempted to present the audiences with rarely performed music
. The duo’s genuine interpretations add a special appeal to their appearances, thus the stories of German and French operettas sound very suggestive and true of life in their performances.
