BRUGGE/BELGIUM: With 5 million tourists every year to the small city Brugge, with only 46000 inhabitants
. From where most of them are one day tourists, as the hotel capacity is limited with only beds. There are a very large amount of cafes and restaurans.
Our host on this trip, Visit Flandern, has prepared a good introduction to a limited list of a variation of restaurants for us to visit, so we have got the feeling of how high the quality and how many variations there are in Brugge.
FISH VARIATIONS
We too learned that fish in very many delicious forms and variations is extraordinay well taken care of in this area, with only a very short coastline.
Cod, flounders, halibut, mini shrimps, talentfull prepared, and very deliciouse arranged and presented at the plates told us of a high grade of good kitchen professionality.
Deliciouse entres and surprosing desserts
. In addition well served and good introduced either by the chefs them self or the service minded headwaiters and waiters. Who also followed up with a well prepared proposals of tastefull wine, suiting the meals well
.
LA PERGOLA
One highlight was La Pergola a Michelin Gourmand restaurant situated in a garden with many pergolas full of wellsmelling roses, overlooking one of the kanals in Brugge became a hit.
Please regard the picture with the meny we could choose from, and the pictures of the meals we got served. Romantic, charming. Full of guests. I propose to reserve a table. Looking forward to my next visit.
EXTRAORDINARY GOOD.
BAR ROCHFORT
A good lunch we enjoyed at Bar Rochfort.
A more modern interior, but also with a romantic feeling because of a large crystal chandelier in combination with a large modern lampconstruction made of a twisted wooden staircase with lamps in the form of bowling cones.
Please enjoy the photos from the meal.
Chalet Robinson, Bruxelles
One of the places we have been looking forward to was to go to the big parc just outside Bruxelles, which has a lake with an Iceland, and a wellknown cafe called Chalet Robinson, we arrived well, with boat at a cabel between that mainland to te iceladn, romantic surrounded by Swans and Canadian Gooses, many people enjoying the nice parc.
At the Chatel Robinson a table was reserved at the terrasse for us, which was quite full, mostly of tourists. We got the meny and ordered, after a while the water and wine came. We ordered food, whoch came, and were placed around with out checking that the plates was for whoom, or for the person who has ordered it. The plates looked like prepared for a cantine serving, not for a first class restaurant, not any elegance, furthermore it tasted nothing special. After days with deliciouse fish dishes, i would like a beef, and i ordered the most expensive beef at the meny supposed to be an inner filet, mediom, in slides. It came in slides, well done, dry, and not any exiting at all, with ordinary pommes frites, and a bowring sauce. Bad following up from the staff and leadership.
By using the toalet, a woman in charge, waited to get payed for using it, that i didn´t. The hospitality from the staff didn´t come from the heart. To be a touristattraction, more than the nice situated place is needed. Excellent food. Good service. Giving the guests the feeling that the staff is really interested in taking good care of the guests.
At Chalet Robinson. They do still have a lot to learn regarding hospitality. I was not satisfied. We left before the dessert. Happy to get away.
