CHRISTIAN LACROIX AUCTION AT DROUOT, PARIS


The last spring summer collection that CHRISTIAN LACROIX made for JEAN PATOU in 1987 was sold on AUCTION at DROUOT in PARIS on Sunday 28 March 2010, at the amount of Euro 168.462, the auction house Drouot informs.

There was an enorm interest from buyers and press for the sale. The collection was exposed Saturday and Sunday morning and the auction took place in the same room on Sunday afternoon. It was, in deed, a great pleasure to get the possibility to enjoy close up, how the couturier house has been making his very detailed and beautiful outfits of womens wear. Splendid exposed and very informative. 

As we do know from the before about mr. Lacroix outstanding talent, the impession was being even better after this possibility.

The cale enclose approximately 50 dresses, a lot of hats inspired from the cuntry style, bijoux, and it was estimated at prices between euro 98.000 to 120.000.  But it endeed up at Euro 168.462.

A big evening dress in printed silk taft called “Why not” (“Pourquoi pas”) was sold at 10.228 euros. A  dress in marine crepe silk with white dots got the was sold at 7.821 euros, an other silk robe “Moustique”, with a volant skirt with small plissees and embridery Anglas 7.229 euros and “Oh la la”, dress in white taft with grey dots at 6.979 euros
.

The Bijouts was a big success, and managed to get 800 euros for a bracelet type slave. The auktionfirm Drouot informs that many of the pieces bought went to museums, but also to shops and private customers, who wanted some thing extraordinary. 

That Christian Lacroix was leaving the house Patou one week after his last show was a signal for the end of the Haute Couture time for the the Paris Couture House Jean Patou

This spring/summer collection 1987 has not bee shown since then
. It has been keeped by the neveu of Jean Patou, Jean de Moüy.
