With this year’s festival theme we will put focus on some dance works choreographed in another era. Where are these artists and their art to be found today, what was the influence they had in and how do we best safeguard the history?
French opening production
We are delighted and proud to announce that the festival opening production will beEmpty moves [parts I & II] with French company Ballet Preljocaj by acclaimed choreographer Angelin Preljocaj and composer John Cage. The piece will have it’s Nordic premiere and the company will be visiting Oslo and the CODA Festival for the very first time.
Countdown
Dear friend, happy October! In less than ten days, the 7th edition of CODA festival will begin! From 10-23 October nearly 50 performances and events, workshops, seminars, film screenings, exhibitions, festival club and much more will be presented. Make sure you don’t miss it!
Historical Dance Procession
Already on 4 October at 11am there will be a special event celebrating this years festival theme with a large dance procession leaded by the Artistic director of the CODA festival, the famouse Norwegian choreographer and dancer, Lise Nordal, at the Opera House.
It will take place both outdoors and indoors. More than 40 Norwegian dance artists of all ages will participate, including Ingrid Lorentzen, the newly appointed Ballet Director of the Opera House. You are most welcome to attend this historical event! All you have to do is to show up at the stunning venue Opera House Roof from 11 am

Opening of CODA 2011
The festival officially opens on Tuesday October 11 withEmpty moves [Parts I & II] by Ballet Preljocaj. We are delighted to announce that the prolific choreographer Angelina Preljocaj, will come to Oslo to attend himself, along with Norwegian Minister of Culture Culture, Ms Anniken Huitfeldt, who will officially open the festival.
