Inspired by the works of Francis Bacon, Wayne McGregor creates a new choreography for the Ballet de l’Opera.
Interrogating the physical possibilities of its performers, it to extremes, it is in the works of a painter resonance with his own choreographic research. it inspired by the shapes, colors and textures of these tables to explore, beyond the images, the potential expressive of the human body. The piece is conceived on a work of the composer Mark Anthony Turnage, Blood on the Floor, also named after a painting by Bacon.
The Ensemble Intercontemporain and four jazz soloists accompany the dancers in a space structured by the minimalist architect John Pawson.
