Don Carlos concertante at Champs Elysees
4/17/13 •
As far as I understand in the 1884 version, which is being performed, that will say without the Fontainbleu scene, in which we all are told why Don Carlo is being so jalouse to his father, since DOn Carlo was supposed to marry Elisabeth, and he meet her in the Fontainbleu scene, and they fall in love, and are prepared to be married. Then the decission is being announced that Elisabeth is going to marry Don Carlos Father King Filip II. In this is the seriouse background for what we experience when the 1884 version starts.
