ORVIETO/ITALIA: Ungdomsorkesteret Luigi Cherubini fremførte nylig en flott konsert i domkirken i Orvieto, nord for Roma. FIRENZE/ITALY: The French composer Georges Bizet, famous even among “non-experts” as the author of Carmen, actually wrote also other interesting operas even if in Italy they are generally out of repertoire. We have seen his Meistersinger in Nürnberg from the Salzburg Festival, and now Herheim has recreated it in Paris, with Opera de Paris outstanding music chief Philip Jordan at the conductors podium. NEW YORK/USA: The Met’s just-announced 2016–17 season features an exciting lineup of six new productions, ranging from Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde, – with Nina Stemme as Isolde, which opens the season in September, to the Met premiere of Kaija Saariaho’s L’Amour de Loin, one of the most acclaimed operas of recent years. The season comes to a close with Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier, featuring a dream cast led by Renée Fleming and Elīna Garanča.

Indeed, a real “unique”, a large edifice built and decorated following a curious “eclectic style” which took on its present appearance in the second half of the 19th century in accordance with the will of its then owner, Marquis Ferdinando Panciatichi Ximenes d’Aragona. Efter sidste forestilling af Tema og variationer tog Balletmester Nikolaj Hübbe en smuk tradition i brug og udnævnte ballettens nyeste solodanser direkte fra scenen. Holly Jean Dorger, 27, blev forfremmet til solodanser – den højeste titel en balletdanser kan nå. Fra Det Kongelige Teaters pressetjeneste.
