KØBENHAVN/DANMARK: Som de fleste husker (?) var Den Norske Operas produksjoner av Cavalleria Rusticana og Bajazzo som ble spilt for noen år siden i Oslo en samproduksjon med Den Kongelige Opera i København, hvor den første var satt i scene av daværende operasjef i København, Kasper Holten, nå operasjef på Covent Garden operaen i London, og vår egen daværende operasjef Paul Curran, som idag regnes som en av verdens fremste operaregissører, etterspurt, og med suksess, over hele verden. av Henning Høholt

Montpellier Danse 2014

MONTPELLIER/FRANCE: From the 22nd until the 9th of July, the Agora, cité internationale de la danse, on the Louis Blanc Boulevard, will be massively invested by the artists and the festival-goers! During this 34th edition, more than half of the performances will be presented at this exceptional venue that is the old 17th century convent of the Ursulines.

KØBENHAVN/DANMARK: En af de vigtige strategiske satsninger er arbejdet med at fylde Tivolis sale med koncerter, musicals og forestillinger. Tivoli og The One and Only Company relancerer Tivoli sommerrevy TAM TAM i Glassalen med nogle af landets folkekæreste kunstnere: Niels Olsen, Christiane Schaumburg-Müller, Alexandre Willaume, Søs Egelind, Pelle Emil Hebsgaard samt Bodil Jørgensen. Sangdullerne Szhirley og Rikke Hvidbjerg indgår også i forestillingen, der bindes sammen af den prisvindende instruktør: Joy-Maria Frederiksen.

After successful exhibitions in Oslo and Tokyo, Norwegian Icons: Important Norwegian Design comes to New York this May. Drawing attention to Norway’s contribution to mid-century Scandinavian design, the exhibition presents fine and rare decorative arts and furniture created in Norway between 1940 and 1975, in conversation with artwork by acclaimed Norwegian artists, including multiple works by Anna-Eva Bergman and Edvard Munch. BERLIN/GERMANY: Mozart’s Magic flute is one of the most beloved operas in the world. Everybody know it by heart, specially in Germany So Berlin’s Komische Oper Intendant Barry Kosky wasn’t eager to put it on stage unless he found a new attractive way to do it, something that is even easier to understand if we think that this theatre, the smallest among the three Berlin’s operas, is famous for its often outrageous stagings. Allerede 30 Januar åpnet man utstillingen Nasjonale montasjer. vises på Nasjonalbiblioteket helt frem til 5. September.

MARTIN FRÖST RECEIVES THE SONNING MUSIC PRIZE

COPENHAGEN/DENMARK: On May 10, the Swedish clarinetist Martin Fröst will receive the Léonie Sonning Music Prize in Copenhagen making him the third Swede in the history of the prize to be awarded, following the footsteps of his illustrious Swedish predecessors, Birgit Nilsson and Eric Ericson.

FIRENZE/ITALY: The festival program was officially presented to the press marking what is maybe “a world record”: The presentation was only twenty days before the Festival Opening, that was april 30th with Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde conducted by Zubin Mehta, what can be looked as the compensation for the fact that in Wagner’s year 2013 (two hundred years from the composer’s birth) the House staged only one among his operas. PRAGUE/PARIS/BADEN-BADEN: In May and June, Violeta Urmana can be heard with the Bamberger Symphoniker – under the symphony orchestra’s principal conductor Jonathan Nott – in three concerts in which she will sing lieder for orchestra by Richard Strauss.
